The use of data has become one of the most important competencies for organizational success. Successful organizations need a workforce with the expertise to acquire, process, store, and use data to gain insight and build smart systems. This need provides Mississippi’s workforce development and education system with a clear responsibility: prepare a workforce ready for digital transformation. This free one-day seminar, our first annual Back-to-School Data Science Seminar, focuses on the important role played by colleges and universities in building a data science literate workforce that will help Mississippi remain productive and competitive.
